Report of the Rehabilitation Committee Twelve
(12) meetings of the Rehabilitation Committee were held during the period
under review. During
the period under review, fitly (50) applications were approved for grant of
finances for acquiring the flats for which we have already disbursed Rs.41
million for the Rehabilitation Scheme.
Scheme
for Converting Pugree Flats into Ownership Flats
We are
grateful to WMO Headquarters for pledging US$350,000 for the purpose of
converting Pugree houses to ownership basis. The Pakistan Memon Educational
& Welfare Society has pledged a sum of Rs.10.5 million (US $175,000) and
the balance of Rs.10.5 million (US $175,000), i.e., 50% falls on the
shoulders of WMO to contribute. We
have already disbursed Rs.9.6 million for the Conversion Scheme for 153
flats.
